Over 160 retired Flag Officers for America have recently called for the resignation of the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. They deemed it warranted by General Mark Milley’s unconscionable failure of leadership with respect to racist training and purges of military personnel and America’s strategic defeat in Afghanistan.

The case for terminating Gen. Milley has become even more clear-cut and urgent, however, thanks to as-yet-unrefuted claims in a forthcoming book entitled Peril. We’re told he sought to allay improbable Chinese concerns that President Trump would launch a nuclear strike after losing the 2020 election, by promising to forewarn his counterpart of any attack.

Such a warning would almost certainly give aid and comfort to our enemy and probably result in immense loss of American lives. If it happened, that amounts to treason and would justify Mark Milley’s overdue firing and a court-martial.
