Lt. Col. Tommy Waller explains the importance of securing US supply chain for the electric grid
CSP President and CEO, Lt. Col. Tommy Waller (USMC Ret.), joined Tiffany Meier on “NTD Evening News” to discuss an alleged Iranian campaign to influence the 2024 U.S. presidential election. Waller also talked about the recent pager attack on Hezbollah in Lebanon which he called both “a supply chain attack combined with a cyber attack.”
He emphasized the possibility of China learning from this attack and possibly pursuing similar strikes on the United States in the future given the integration of Chinese technology in U.S. critical infrastructure, including the electric grid.
Waller explained parts of the electric grid that are manufactured in China, such as transformers, and how these supply chain vulnerabilities need to be addressed by the federal government. Tommy emphasized that the federal government’s failures require a bottom-up approach to electric grid security.
