Newsham on Narendra Modi’s visit to the United States
India has characterized itself as a preferred partner for the United States as it competes with China on a global scale, a message Prime Minister Narendra Modi conveyed in his address to a joint session of Congress Thursday. Retired Col. Grant Newsham, an expert on Asian affairs, tells NTD the United States and India are compatible and aligned.
“We both face a real threat from China. In fact, the Indian people, the military has been telling me for years that ‘We’ve been at war with China since 1962. You Americans ought to wake up to that.’ Now, that’s the kind of people you want on your side,” Newsham said.
