North Korean state media agency KCNA says Kim Jong Un has called for officials to fundamentally and substantially improve the military’s capabilities for fighting an actual war. The North Korean leader says the United States and its allies, including South Korea, have brought tension to “the worst phase in history”.
Grant Newsham, Senior fellow at the Center for Security Policy, discusses the implications of these choices., tells CNA’s Asia Now that North Korea’s involvement in the Russia-Ukraine conflict is “something to be very concerned about”.
