The transformation of Donald Trump from candidate to president is ominously evident in his unraveling policy on characterizing the enemy we face and keeping them out of the country. With the latest revision to his restrictions on immigration – the so-called “travel ban” – the threat posed by what he called “radical Islamic terrorism” has been largely airbrushed out of his administration’s lexicon and directives.

What is particularly concerning is the absence from the new travel restrictions of an ideological screen designed to exclude those who would come here to promote Sharia-supremacism. That totalitarian Islamic doctrine is fundamentally incompatible with our Constitution and its adherents are obliged to engage in one form of jihad or another to impose it worldwide.

Without such a screen, we are unlikely to contain the jihadists we face, let alone prevent them from waging holy war here.
