"Public Diplomacy: How to Think About and Improve It" is a study written and published by the California-based RAND Corporation in early 2004.

It deals with problems of conceptualization in public diplomacy, and details how these problems can affect the messaging strategies of both states and individuals – it makes a comparison between the messages of Martin Luther King, Jr. and Nelson Mandela.
