Study urges more counterterrorism in Asia, but Shideler says difficulty lies in lack of on-the-ground intel

A study by former senior U.S. policymakers says the United States has been traumatized by two decades of war terror, but it is time now to move on from that trauma and step up counterterrorism efforts in Afghanistan and Pakistan. However, Kyle Shideler, a counterterrorism analyst at the Center for Security Policy, tells NTD this may prove to be difficult following the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan as there is a lack of on-the-ground intelligence gathering resources.
