THANK YOU SEN. GRASSLEY FOR SEEKING THE TRUTH ABOUT MALFEASANCE AT THE HOMELAND SECURITY DEPARTMENT

Influential Americans Urge Accountability re: Whistleblower Charges

Washington, D.C.:  Thirty-one former government officials, national leaders and public policy activists expressed appreciation to U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA) for his efforts to get to the bottom of yet another scandal festering in the Department of Homeland Security.
According to press reports, an internal DHS Inspector General investigation has been conducted into allegations by a whistleblower that the Department has taken steps to facilitate the entry into this country of terrorist sympathizers and perhaps actual terrorists. Sen. Grassley has been running into stiff resistance in his efforts to obtain the results of the IG’s investigation.
In a joint letter to Senator Grassley sent today, the signers commended the ranking member of the Senate Judiciary Committee for his “findings that the administration has directed that individuals with known ties to the Muslim Brotherhood and other jihadist groups be given the so-called ‘hands-off’ treatment.  This arrangement seems to constitute a kind of ‘TSA Pre’ for terrorist-sympathizers.  It is unconscionable and should be stopped.”
The signers added: “You are also to be commended for your leadership in uncovering evidence of the officially directed deletion of information from ‘watch list’ data bases upon which DHS agents rely to protect the rest of us from enemies seeking to come into our country through manned ports of entry.”
The joint letter was facilitated by the Center for Security Policy.  Its president, Frank J. Gaffney, Jr., observed on the letter’s release today:
“The Obama administration has made a practice of subordinating public safety to its political agenda.  Senator Grassley has uncovered evidence that it has done so in a particularly ominous way at the Department of Homeland Security by facilitating access to our country for actual or potential enemies.  He is rendering a tremendous public service with his efforts to expose and terminate such practices and deserves the heartfelt appreciation of all Americans.”
