The Center’s Waller on Fox News

On Wednesday, May 9, the Center’s VP for Information Operations, Dr. J. Michael Waller, appeared on Fox News’ The O’Reilly Factor in his capacity as a professor at the Institute of World Politics.  He spoke of the disturbing ideological alliances that underlie large parts of the riots against newly-elected French President Nicolas Sarkozy.

According to Waller, there is a collusion between radical, disaffected Muslims, and ultra-left-wing Marxists, anarchists, and Trotskyists.  Their common enemy?

"The System."

The extremists, Waller noted, while committed to the overthrow of the Western social order, have to come to grips with the fact that they each have drastically different world views.  Uber-liberal egalitarianism and a Sharia utopia simply won’t mix.

Waller and O’Reilly went on to discuss Germany’s recent crackdown on left-wing militants suspected of plotting terrorist attacks against the upcoming G-8 summit, ties between Islamist terrorists and American left-wing activists, and the streamlined internal security processes that Germany and France enjoy. O’Reilly also mentioned Waller’s new book, Fighting the War of Ideas like a Real War.
