The truth about the Democrats’ January 6 big lies

Today will witness one of the most brazen acts of political theater and deflection in our nation’s history. Partisan Democrats from President Biden on down will weaponize the anniversary of an event at the U.S. Capital one year ago not only to promote a false narrative and vilify those who challenge it.

They also intend to exploit the so-called 1/6 “insurrection” to force through the Senate legislation that would effectively foreclose any future prospect of honest elections. Insult is added to injury by the proponents’ insistence on gutting the filibuster to enact the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act and “save democracy.”

Here’s the truth: There was no insurrection a year ago. The 2020 presidential election was stolen. And, stripping states of their constitutional rights to set voter ID and other, necessary election integrity rules, will end our Republic, not save it.
