President Obama had barely finished reprising in the State of the Union address one of his most seriously fraudulent statements concerning the national security – namely, his false claim that “our diplomacy halted the progress of Iran’s nuclear program” – than one of that diplomacy’s enablers said it’s not so.

Former advisor Dennis Ross – who was, during Mr. Obama’s first-term, a principal architect of the engagement policy with Iran – has just co-authored a withering critique of the resulting so-called “Joint Plan of Action.”

According to Amb. Ross and his colleagues, Obama’s deal is “deeply flawed because the combination of interim and final concessions it contains undermines the effort to prevent a nuclear Iran.”

In other words, far from halting Iran’s progress towards the Bomb, President Obama is helping it along.
