“President Donald Trump is due to meet Philippines’ President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. at the White House on Tuesday. The leader of one of the United States’ key Asian allies, Marcos has come to Washington to talk trade amid an impending August 1 tariff deadline and the continued search for lasting peace and security in the Indo-Pacific.
Retired Col. Grant Newsham, a senior fellow at The Center for Security Policy and the author of “When China Attacks,” joined NTD to offer his insight on the Philippines’ role as a crucial U.S. ally in pushing back against China’s growing aggression in the South China Sea.”
