US Senate investigators revealed yesterday that four Chinese Communist Party telecommunications companies long engaged  in espionage in the United States by collaborating with American carriers whose networks gave PRC spies access to our military, commercial and personal data.

Successive administrations of both parties failed to prevent the CCP from tapping into our own assets to vacuum up sensitive information. Worse yet, three of these four conglomerates – China Mobile, China Telecom and China Unicom – were simultaneously underwriting their malevolent activities by raising funds in our capital markets.

In other words, US investors paid our enemies to spy on us, intensifying the threats we face from Communist China and undermining our security. President Trump and some legislators are determined to end this insanity, made worse by the fact that Chinese companies like these telecoms get preferential treatment on Wall Street.

That must end NOW.
