What Freed Pastor Brunson Can Help Save Other Persecuted Christians
This is Frank Gaffney with the Secure Freedom Minute.
This weekend, President Trump welcomed home Pastor Andrew Brunson, a courageous American missionary who worked for decades to minister to Christians in an increasingly Sharia-supremacist Turkey.
The pastor had been incarcerated in harsh and dangerous Turkish prisons for two years by the Islamist regime of Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Until, that is, Mr. Trump decided to do two things that should be used to help many millions of other Christians still being heavily persecuted in Turkey and elsewhere around the world:
First, hold the persecutors accountable for what they are doing. And second, impose costs for their crimes against humanity.
In addition, the United States must serve notice on persecutors like Erdogan: Our commitment to religious freedom does not apply to those who claim that the practice of their religion entitles them to deny this fundamental human right to people of other faiths.
