Donald Trump’s new National Security Advisor is Army Lieutenant General H.R. McMaster. He’s a decorated warrior, military historian and author of Dereliction of Duty – a case study of what happens when America’s political leadership is willfully blind to the nature of the enemy and, therefore, incapable of defeating them.

Unfortunately, this Vietnam-era syndrome has operated since 9/11, too. Politicians of both parties have failed to understand that Islam’s Sharia-supremacism animates the terrorism we face around the world and what Mr. Trump calls the “networks in our society that support radicalization.” Those networks are mostly operated here by the Muslim Brotherhood.

President Trump has repeatedly pledged to defeat such forces. It would be a dereliction of duty were his National Security Advisor – who has long served under presidents who have gotten it wrong – to fail to help one who gets its right succeed.
