US ‘partner’ Russia still helps Iran build ICBM

Russia continues helping Iran build a long-range nuclear ballistic missile, despite Moscow’s pledges to stop aiding terrorist regimes, according to a senior US official who wished not to be named.

The Shahab-4 missile, with a 1,250-mile range, goes far beyond Iran’s legitimate defense needs against its hostile neighbor, Iraq, and is capable of striking the heart of Europe.

Iran is forging ahead with biological, chemical and nuclear weapons programs, Under Secretary of State John Bolton told the Heritage Foundation on Monday.

The State Department views the Iranian government as the most active state supporter of terrorism in the world.

Top officials remain concerned that Russia continues to violate key arms agreements, including the biological and chemical weapons conventions – even as others push words of ‘partnership’ with Moscow.
