Japan concerned about level of US commitment to defend it: Newsham

Washington is reinforcing its “nuclear commitment” to defend an Indo-Pacific ally: Japan. The two just held their first meeting on extended deterrence in Tokyo over the weekend. Chinese state media warned that Japan risks becoming a “potential nuclear target” due to its alliance with the United States.
