"Adapting to Networked Insurgencies" is written by Martin J. Muckian and was published in Parameters, the journal of the U.S. Army War College.  In it, Muckian addresses the differences between modern insurgencies and the Maoist/Marxist examples of the 21st Century.

The article focuses not on laying out a comprehensive counterinsurgency strategy, but rather on illuminating the structural vulenerabilities of these movements and dileneates ways in which those weaknesses can be exploited.  The example used to demonstrate the characteristics of modern insurgent operations is that of the ongoing war in Iraq.
