In this edition of the Bill Walton Show, Walton interviews Ambassador Pete Hoekstra and Fred Fleitz about challenges that U.S. intelligence poses to the civil liberties of Americans and the ability of elected leaders to govern this country.

Hoekstra is former U.S. Ambassador to the Netherlands and former Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee.  Fleitz is President of the Center for Security Policy and worked for Hoekstra on the House Intelligence Committee staff.

Hoekstra and Fleitz cover a wide range of issues in this interview, including the Biden administration’s efforts to weaponize U.S. intelligence to target U.S. conservatives, how Congressman Adam Schiff has destroyed the House Intelligence Committee, and the scandal that Congressman Eric Swalwell continues to serve on this committee even though he had an intimate relationship with a Chinese spy.  They discuss how House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s use of the Intelligence Committee as a partisan weapon is preventing it from performing crucial oversight of U.S. intelligence agencies.

Episode 145: “America’s Intelligence Wars” with Ambassador Pete Hoekstra and Fred Fleitz

We are living in a complicated and dangerous time in America. American intelligence and national security should not be part of partisan politics but that is exactly what they’ve become. “We saw it towards the end of the Obama administration, and the transition into the Trump administration,” according to my guest, Ambassador Pete Hoekstra.
