Death to America

Thirty-four years ago today, so-called “students” attacked the U.S. embassy in Tehran, taking hostage and imprisoning dozens of Americans for over a year.

The mullahs’ Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps says this anniversary will be marked by the launch of a new campaign to promote its trademark slogan: “Death to America.”

History teaches that ignoring the rhetoric and dictates of totalitarians is a serious mistake.  Yet, President Obama is negotiating with those in Iran who don’t just say they desire our destruction, but who are actively building the capabilities to accomplish it – including the capacity to destroy our electric grid with electromagnetic pulse weapons.

To prevent “death to America,” we must oppose efforts to prop up the regime that seeks it.  That means no easing of sanctions and, inevitably, U.S. military action.
