Center President and CEO, Fred Fleitz, joined Fox Business to discuss President Trump’s recent criticism of the World Health Organization (WHO) in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic. Watch the whole interview here.
When asked if President Trump’s criticism of the organization was warranted, Fleitz said “he is exactly right” and pointed out that Tedros Adhanom, the current head of the WHO, “is the only non-medical doctor to head this organization” in the 114 years it has existed.
Fleitz stressed the need for “an accountable international health organization to be created” so that blatant coverups, as have been done by the Chinese government with respect to their coronavirus data, cannot happen in the future. Fleitz explains that as long as Tedros heads the WHO, China will never be held accountable for the disinformation they have spread on the coronavirus.
Fleitz finished by saying “I think there’s enormous corruption in the World Health Organization” and President Trump potentially withholding funds from them would be “an opportunity to tackle that.”
