Center President and CEO Fred Fleitz appeared on Lou Dobbs Tonight to talk about the impeachment case against President Trump.

Fleitz began by slamming the whole impeachment process as a “sham” and believes that Senator McConnell should “get the articles of impeachment and tear them up on the floor of the Senate as soon as they are received and just dismiss the whole mess.”

“I think the American people see through this”

“They see Congressmen on one side using impeachment as a political weapon to smear a president who they think they can not prevent from being re-elected at the ballot box,” Fleitz said. He also noted the arrogance of Adam Schiff in his release of “phone records of the top Republican on the Intelligence Committee, the President’s attorney, and a journalist.” What is also interesting, Fleitz explained, is the fact that the “Squad” hadn’t appeared all day to comment on the impeachment.

“The Democrats know they’re in trouble, and they don’t want to make it worse”

In response to the FISA court’s rebuke of the FBI and Andrew McCabe blaming mistakes on rank and file agents, Fleitz said “intelligence was weaponized to hurt this president, this was not a mistake, this was criminal misconduct, and I don’t agree with what the FBI chief said.” The former CIA analyst stated that “people have to be held accountable, people have to be prosecuted, people have to be fired.”

Fleitz finished by commenting on the IG report released by Michael E. Horowitz, “if you read this report carefully, it is devastating for the President’s critics.”
