Donald Trump channeled Ronald Reagan yesterday in his powerful address in Warsaw, Poland.  His repeated affirmation of freedom and Western civilization – and the imperative of defending them against enemies, foreign and domestic – could scarcely have contrasted more strongly with the apologies and submissive messaging of one of Mr. Trump’s other predecessors: Barack Obama.

Instead of Obama’s trademark weakness and irresolution, the Trump speech conveyed a muscular commitment to defeating liberty’s enemies – including, but not limited to, “radical Islamic terrorism.” It evoked the Polish experience of overcoming totalitarian aggression with courage and tenacity as a clarion call for our times.

The President returned again and again to the importance of what he calls “our values.”  Donald Trump recognizes that protecting those values – and the people who cherish them – is his highest responsibility, and he deserves our steadfast support as he executes it.
