Iranian activity in Iraq
Recent news reports have made it all too clear that Iranian operatives have been engaged in attacking U.S. soldiers and their allies in Iraq. Agents from Iran’s intelligence services, Basij militias, and Quds Forces are among the culprits in this ongoing dirty game. Until now, there has been little public reporting on this unwelcome and threatening activity.
The following report, compiled by associates of the Center for Security Policy, is a highly detailed presentation of the nature and extent of the Iranian abetment of violence in Iraq. It clearly demonstrates that the Iranians have been heavily involved in logistical support to the insurgency, often in the form of RPGs, TNT, and surface-to-air missiles. They also provide forged documents to the operatives that facilitate the penetration and subversion of Iraqi government institutions.
All Americans concerned for their safety and for the safety of our fighting men and women abroad owe themselves a long, hard look at how Tehran is working against us. This report is a good place to start.
