Kerry Pushes Nuclear Deal as Iranian General Says Israel’s Destruction is “Non-Negotiable”
On Wednesday, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stepped up his criticism of the nuclear talks with Iran when he said “Yesterday an Iranian general brazenly declared, and I quote: ‘Israel’s destruction is non-negotiable,’ but evidently giving Iran’s murderous regime a clear path to the bomb is negotiable. This is unconscionable.”
Prime Minister Netanyahu was referring to a statement by Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Naqdi, commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard’s Basij, who said on the occasion of Islamic Republic Day in Tehran that “wiping Israel off the map is not up for negotiation.”
The Iranian government tried to keep Naqdi’s comment from the Western media. According to the Jerusalem Post, “Iran’s Fars News Agency reported on Naqdi’s speech but left out, in its English-language story, any reference to Israel, instead highlighting threats he made toward the Saudis for their intervention against the Iranian-supported Houthi rebels in Yemen.”
The Naqdi comment came after Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei said “death to America” at a rally in Tehran on March 21.
Iran now controls the capitals of four Arab states: Baghdad, Damascus, Beirut and Sanaa. It may now have a new Shiite terrorist proxy in Yemen. Iranian-trained Shiite militias are fighting ISIS in Iraq but are also increasing Iranian influence and control over the country.
Meanwhile, Secretary of State John Kerry is pushing an nuclear agreement with Tehran that will pave the way to an Iranian nuclear bomb.
Prime Minister Netanyahu is right. This is unconscionable.
