When President Obama visits three African nations in coming days, Mauritania will not be among them. Perhaps that’s because his National Security Council staff recently met with a prominent figure from that nation – Abdullah bin Bayyah.
The Investigative Project on Terror notes that bin Bayyah is also one of the world’s most virulent promoters of jihad. Yet, he was invited to the White House to discuss ways to improve communications with the International Union of Muslim Scholars. That’s a jihadist group founded by radical cleric Youssef al-Qaradawi, whose Islamic supremacism has caused him to be banned from the United States.
Africa is among the places where Team Obama’s embrace of Islamists is proving disastrous. This practice must stop – before it causes even more devastating consequences, at home and abroad.
