US response to Iran-backed drone strike must be ‘powerful enough to put the fear of God’ in terrorists
President Joe Biden has said he has decided how the U.S. should respond to an attack by an Iran-backed militia that killed 3 U.S. service members on Jan. 28.
For more analysis, NTD spoke to retired Col. Grant Newsham, a senior fellow at the Center for Security Policy and the author of “When China Attacks: A Warning to America.”
“We’ve been attacked 200 times,” Mr. Newsham said, “and finally somebody got killed—but people have been injured before, and finally they think they need to do something.” On the U.S. response to the drone strike, he said “It has to be forceful and powerful enough to put the fear of God in people.”
“That’s what the military is for,” he said.
