In an interview today with Newsmax TV’s Shaun Kreisman, Center for Security Policy President was critical of claims made on the Sunday Morning Talk Shows by Biden National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan that President Biden united America’s European allies to isolate China unless it cooperates with an investigation of the origins of the coronavirus and that Biden’s summit with Russian President Vladmir Putin was a success.

Fleitz said the Chinese government clearly is not afraid of Biden isolating it because a Chinese foreign ministry spokesman last Thursday said scientists at the Wuhan Institute of Virology should be nominated for the Nobel prize in medicine and not punished for their role in the origin and spread of the coronavirus worldwide.  Fleitz also noted that criticism of China at the G-7 and NATO summits was very mild with many states more concerned about their trade relations with China.

On the Biden-Putin summit, Fleitz said the contrast between Biden’s weakness and confusion and Putin’s competence and energy harmed American national security.  He said Putin’s claim that Biden called him to walk back his statement to ABC News that Putin is “a killer” was especially damaging for Biden, especially since Putin followed this claim by calling the United States and the military killers.  Fleitz said this summit was a disaster for Biden and should never have taken place.
